Solar Thermal

Solar Thermal is a clean and highly efficient way of using energy from the sun to provide you with up to 60% of your annual domestic hot water.

The way a Solar Thermal heating system works is quite straightforward.
Solar collectors are installed on your roof where they absorb energy from the sun, this heats a fluid that is pumped in a sealed circuit to an indirect coil in a water cylinder. This heats the water and stores it until needed.
During the winter months when there is limited solar energy the solar thermal heating system works alongside conventional water heaters to provide hot water. Nevertheless the winter contribution from solar thermal can still be substantial, ensuring savings on your winter fuel bills.

Solar thermal is also extremely viable and effective for heating swimming pools, indoor or out.

Wessex Gasworks experienced MCS accredited solar thermal consultants will assess your situation and discuss with you the best options to meet your needs. They are also available to answer any questions before, during and after your solar thermal installation.

Wessex Gasworks offer a quick and fuss free installation.
Our solar collectors come with a 10 year manufacturers warranty and our cylinders come with a 2 year manufacturers warranty with a 25 year guarantee on the cylinder shell.
The system requires very little maintenance, but we recommend periodical inspections to ensure the system is operating at maximum efficiency .

Grants are available for Solar thermal with the RHPP (Renewable Heating Premium Payment) of £300. Further payments maybe available from Autumn 2012 in the form RHI (Renewable Heating Incentive).
